English Name:- Garland Flower.

Botanical Name:- Hedychium Spicatum.

Family:- ZINGIBERACEAE.

Parts Used:- Rhizome.

Habit:- A small herb with tuberous roots, leaves with acute sheathing leaf base, Flowers-white.

Taste:- Sweet.

Chemical Constituents:- Rhizome Contains: Oil, Cineol, Linalool Cadinol, Elemol, Eudesmols alpha-Pinene, Beta- Pinene. Limunene, Camphor, Linalylacetate, Terepeneol, Borneol, Caryophyllene, Humulene, Terpenolene, Furanoid diterpene- Heydechenene.

Actions:- Anti-septic, Aphrodisiac, Hypotensive, Stomachic, Carminative, Astringent, Flatulance.

Used In:- Hypoglycaemia, Inflammation, Cough, Asthma, Vomiting, Colic, Ulcer, Hysteria, Dental trouble, Vasadialator.
