Brassica oleracea

English Name:- Cabbage.

Botanical Name:- Brassica oleracea.

Family:- BRASSICACEAE

Parts Used:- Seeds.

Habit:- A small suffruticose.

Taste:- Agreeable sweet.

Chemical Constituents:- Seeds contains:- Alkaloid, Protein, Sugar and oil.  

Actions:- Diuretic, Laxative, stomachic, Digestive, Appitizer, Cooling Astringent.   

Used In:- Rheumatism, Headache, Chronic Cough, Inflammation of spleen,  Emmengogue, Polyuria, Leprosy, Dyscrasia, Vertigo and Fever.

  • It contains Vitamin E, C and beta-carotene which helps prevents cholesterol and heart  diseases and prevents oxidation LDL.
  • The folic acid presents in it produces normal red blood in the bone marrow.
  • Because of the presence of Vitamin K it regulates bone protein and calcium in the  bones.
  • It being a rich source of Vitamin A keeps the cornea healthy.
  • It is rich in Vitamin C. It heals the wounds and creates resistance in the body against infections and stress.
  • Calcium is one of the most important minerals found in it that can lower cholesterol and  blood sugar and prevents diabetes.
  • The content of Vitamin E serves as a major anti-oxidant
